A coal-fired power plant works by water being turned into steam which then drives turbine generators to produce energy. When the coal reaches the plant it is first turned into talcum powder and then put into the firebox of the boilers. Water is then turned into steam and pumped through pipes to the turbine generator inside the boiler. The pressure from the steam pushes against the turbine generators blades which turns the turbine shaft which is connected to the shaft of the generator where magnets are located and spin within wire coils to produce energy. Leftover steam is then turned back into water to repeat the process.
Coal Fly Ash is something that is a product of having to run a coal-fired power plant. It is normally caught by particle filtration equipment before the flue gases reach the chimneys of coal-fired power plants. Together with bottom ash removed from the bottom boiler is known as coal ash.
